Velusta X Special Olympics Belgium

On the 8th of April we were very proud to officially announce Velusta as the new clothing sponsor for the cycling team of Special Olympics Belgium! Special Olympics makes it possible for athletes with mental disabilities to participate in sports, tournaments and competitions. The Special Olympics organisation supports them worldwide and organises competitions where inclusion is key.

In barely a year since our official founding, we have already completed our second Tailor Made Project (after Knokke-Heist). And what a special one! We got the honour and the confidence of Special Olympics Belgium to design a new cycling outfit for their athletes, completely custom-made, literally!
The athletes of the Special Olympics are more vulnerable, so extra protection is a must! We measured Lieven, one of the Special Influencers of Special Olympics Belgium, in order to create an outfit that perfectly fits his body geometry. We shortened the sleeves and bib shorts of our original outfit and made them tighter for a perfect fit.

We are looking forward to next year when the Special Olympics Belgium athletes will compete in our outfits at the 2023 World Games in Berlin!

The tailor-made cycling outfit was presented together with Lieven on Friday 8 April at the Flemish Cycling Centre Eddy Merckx in Ghent. Lieven was so happy when he received the new outfit that he gave us several hugs. We could not get more satisfaction than this for the project! Like Lieven, we are very proud of the result and look back with great satisfaction at Friday’s presentation (check the aftermovie below).

After the successful European Cycling Seminar, we are looking forward to next year when the Special Olympics Belgium athletes will compete in our outfits at the 2023 World Games in Berlin and the National Games in Belgium!
